Stafford, TX February 16, 2005 – France Compressor Products, an EnPro Industries (NYSE: NPO) company, announces a new extended performance material, FXP 1005, for piston rings, rider bands and packing rings.

FXP 1005 is a high modulus, low creep, PTFE based material with extremely low wear rates in wet gases including air compressor applications.  This new material will perform where conventional PTFE fails due to extrusion.  FXP 1005 is a good solution for packing extrusion and premature rider band wear in both lubricated and non-lubricated applications.  The high creep modulus of FXP 1005 requires a multiple piece ring design. 

FXP 1005 is now available for your reciprocating compressor needs.  This material is the first of a number of new blends recently developed and scheduled to be introduced by France Compressor Products in the forthcoming months.  The development of new materials to meet our customer’s expectations and needs is one of our strategic innovations to solidify our position as an industry leader in the design and manufacture of precision sealing components.
